On foot from Göttingen train station

You can reach the central lecture hall centre in 10 minutes on foot as follows:

• Exit the train station through the main exit (towards "Zentrum")
• Pass all the parked bicycles and go towards the "Berliner Straße"
• Follow "Berliner Strasse" to the left in an eastward direction (past the "Amtsgericht")
• Keep heading straight on though two large traffic light intersections,
• Pass a fitness studio and gas station on your left
• Do not take the sidewalk of the "Nikolausberger Weg" but the paved path on the left parallel to it
• This path leads to the University campus
• You have arrived!

By Train

Most IC- (Intercity) and ICE- (Intercity Express) trains on the north/south and east/west routes pass through Göttingen. There are direct connections from Frankfurt Airport. From the Göttingen train station, you can take a taxi or a bus to your destination in Göttingen. The bus leaves from the central bus platform in front of the train station.

By Car

Göttingen is located directly off the A7, the main north/south motorway, between Hannover and Kassel. There are two exits to Göttingen.

Arriving from the North

• A7 exit “Göttingen Nord”, towards “Stadtmitte/Weende” (B388)
• Stay on the B388 for approximately 4 kilometers
• Turn right into the “Hannoversche Straße”
• Stay on the “Hannoverschen Straße/Weender Landstraße” for 2 kilometers
• Cross the first large traffic light intersection (Kreuzbergring)
• Turn left into the University parking lot (Weender Landstraße 15)
• You have arrived!

Arriving from the South

• A7 exit “Göttingen Dransfeld”, towards “Stadtmitte” on the “Kassler Landstraße” (B3)
• Stay on the B3 for approximately 4 kilometers
• Pass under the train track bridge, then turn left on the “Berliner Straße”
• At the second large traffic light intersection (gas station), turn left in the “Weender Landstraße”
• Turn right into the University parking lot (Weender Landstraße 15)
• You have arrived!

There are only very limited parking spaces available on campus. If possible, please use train and public transport to get to the conference.

By Plane

The nearest airport to Göttingen is the Hannover Airport. There are regular trains from Hannover airport to Göttingen (with a change at the Hannover main train station). However, there are often cheaper tickets for flights to Frankfurt Airport. Frankfurt Airport has its own long-distance train station with direct connections to Göttingen (only rarely with a change at Frankfurt main station). The airports of Hamburg, Berlin, Paderborn-Lippstadt, Kassel-Calden and Leipzig-Halle are also easy to reach from Göttingen.
